When some people hear the term artificial intelligence, they immediately think of machine learning. While machine learning is currently a major part of artificial intelligence, these two terms are not interchangeable. For a good overview of the key concepts, take a glance at Wikipedia. At Cross Trained Mind, we see machine learning as a useful technique for narrow AI applications, but not that useful (at this time) for artificial general intelligence.

You might have noticed that the site and the associated YouTube channel have been a little quiet since the end of summer. Since then, I have been substitute teaching at the elementary level. This is an exhausting role, but a useful one. Society, and schools in particular, need subs in order to keep moving forward….
